Canning Jars

Glass canning jars are economical and come in sizes ranging from ½ pint to ½ gallon. A quality seal is one of the most important aspects to home canning; it ensures that no oxygen returns into the jar after processing and that your food will remain preserved just the way you created it. Plastisol Liners are very popular in the food industry for canning, hot sauces, barbecue sauces and many other applications. They are a unique liner in that they create a vacuum seal as product cools in the container.

Different foods are canned differently. The canning method to use depends upon the acid content of the food. A water bath is suitable for foods with a higher acid content since they are less likely to spoil and need less heat and time in canning. Lower acid foods spoil much easier and need high heat and longer cooking times. A pressure cooker is needed to reach high temperatures for canning low acid foods.
